My iPhone was not at home, but I finally left home today WITH my Nikon D3000 and two lenses. I was taking pics at a function and inside for quite some time. When I walked outside after an hour, the clear sky that had been there when I entered the building had been replaced by what you see below. I had to stay under an awning to protect my camera from rain for about 30 minutes. And when the rain finally slackened I ran for my car…and then just had to stop and stare at the sky. I didn’t have the tripod of course but was so so happy to have a chance to finally take pics that required MANUALLY adjusted settings made by me on my camera. I also had to hold the shutter at 3 seconds for two of the shots. 3 seconds of just holding the camera really really steady and hoping something exciting was happening on the other side of the camera paid off. Here are my 4 favorite shots from tonight taken with my actual camera.
